New favorites. Mine, then yours.

I appreciate it when someone tells me about a product they love, and I just happen to have three new products I love.

So, I decided to share my new favorites with you and ask that in return you share your favorites with me! Deal?

Okay, here goes…

Shark Steam Mop
A co-worker raved about her Shark one afternoon at work, and from that day forward I knew I had to have one. Now that I do, I never want to go back to washing my floors on my hands and knees with some icky rag and smelly floor cleaner! You see, I never was a fan of the good, old-fashioned mop. It seems to me that mopping just pushes the dirt around on the floor. I thought I was destined to a lifetime of scrubbing on my hands and knees. Not so! The steam mop makes my floors feel SO clean to my bare summer feet. Best of all? My neglected hard wood floors get washed every week now instead of once a month.

Here are the best things about my Shark.

  • Sanitizes the floor without the need for cleaner/chemicals – just add tap water or distilled water if you have hard water (Sorry, Mr. Clean!)
  • Saves time and effort
  • No more dirty mop water and rags
  • Makes washing the floors fun *almost*

Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss
I recently learned from a co-worker that Coffee-Mate’s liquid creamers are non-dairy and contain partially hydrogenated oils (boo!!!) Of course all this is right on the label, but I never paid any attention! We drink a lot of coffee and the fat-free french vanilla Coffee-Mate is our creamer of choice.  So when I heard about Coffee-Mate’s new natural creamers, I decided it was worth a try. The vanilla flavor has four natural ingredients – milk, cream, sugar and vanilla. It’s delicious!!

The best things about Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss Vanilla Creamer include:

  • All natural ingredients that I don’t have to Google to find out about
  • Only 35 calories and 1.5 grams of fat per Tbs
  • Delicious, creamy goodness

Olay Hydrating Liquid (Original)
Lately I hit a rough patch in the facial moisturizer department. When you’re pregnant there are certain ingredients you have to stay away from, so my regular lotion had to go. I heard a co-worker praising Olay’s moisturizer and thought I’d give it a try. Turns out, that was a pretty good idea!  My skin stays hydrated all day and within a week I’m back on track! Two down sides I must mention: no SPF and a scent I’m having to get used to. Both things I can live with, especially because my foundation has the SPF I need and the scent only lasts a few seconds.

Now it’s your turn!!! Tell me about something you recently tried and love, or something you’ve been using for years and still love! Leave your recommendation in the comments!

  1. My coffee grinder. Never thought I would be the type who would ground her own coffee- like I have time for that in the morning with 4 kids + husband! But my college roomie made me coffee at her house one morning, and I swear I could taste the freshness. My coffee always tasted so bitter! So, the next day I bought the cheapest grinder I could find, and bought WHOLE beans, and have never went back since. Coffee is now my guilty pleasure each morning, and I never mind the extra step!

    • I know all about bitter coffee. Ick. I have a coffee grinder that I’m going to have to dust off now!! Thanks for the reminder.

  2. I have 3 beauty realted ones:

    1. Suave Dry Shampoo- Cheap and smells great. As you know, my hair is very fine and I used to have to shampoo every day. With a combo of training my hair to go every other day and dry shampoo I now skip washes!
    2. Nailtek 10 Speed Polish Drying Drops- help your nails dry super fast. A must have with small children🙂
    3. Fredric Fekkai Brilliant Glossing- LOVE this stuff. I use a tiny amount before I blow dry my hair. Makes my ends feel sikly smooth! It’s kind of expensive but the tiny bottle lasts me months.

  3. I’m also a big fan of the Fekkai glossing cream! That was going to be one of my recommendations too. I’ll go with some food items instead….one healthy and one not.
    1) Bear Naked granola. It’s a yummy addition to yogurt and an easy way to get some extra protein.
    2) Graeter’s black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream. A must have in our freezer! The carton is small and rather expensive, but worth every penny.🙂
Thanks for the tip on the steam mop. I think I need to invest in one and give my hardwood floors some extra attention.

    • Yum! Thanks for tellling me about Graeter’s black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream. I love that flavor and have been eyeing Grater’s at the grocery store. Now that I know it’s worth the price tag, I’ll have to give it a try!

  4. 1) aveda volumizing tonic–great for short to mid-length hair that’s fine & needs a boost. Spray on damp hair at the roots. Fluff & go. It’s so easy & it does the job well.

    2) opi nail polish– this stuff stays on my nails for weeks. They have many great colors & it’s non- toxic so it’s safe to use around baby or pregnant!

    3) curel hand cream– my hands get so dry, especially in winter. It’s probably from washing my hands so much everyday. I use this stuff 2 to 3 times a day & my hands are so soft!

    • I’m always on the hunt for a good hand cream, so thanks! My current favorite is True Blue Spa paraffin super softening hand lotion (look ma, new hands) from Bath & Body Works.

  5. I am on board with you and the steam mop, one of our best household purchases so far. A couple things…
    1) I also Iove our Shark Navigator vacuum. Lightweight and does a great job sucking up everything it comes across…even better that we got it for a steal with some great coupons from Kohls.
    2) You mentioned Olay moisturizing cream. I’m not sure which ingredients are no no’s with your regular brand, but I also like Olay Complete for Sensitive Skin. I don’t know that I have “sensitive skin” but it has minimal, if any fragrance, and it has SPF 15. (I know you were wondering how I maintained my lovely pale, I mean fair, skin)
3)Yummy food item…KIND bars. They have a bunch of different flavors and they usually have only natural ingredients like almonds, raisins, puffed rice and are also typically low in calories. They nutrition stats are good for things like fiber, protein and sodium and they actually taste good! My favorites are Cranberry almond, Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew.

Melissa – Thanks for the suggestion about Suave Dry Shampoo…I have fine hair too and I used to get some Tigi kind…but the can always stopped spraying before it was empty!

Oh..and Sarah, thanks for the tip about Coffee Mate. I have recently become addicted to their Sugar Free Hazelnut, but I hated that it had such un-natural ingredients.
    Good post!

    • I had the same trouble with my TiGi dry shampoo!

Thanks for the heads up on the better smelling Olay moisturizing cream and the Shark Navigator. I will have to investigate! And KIND bars are brand new to me, so I’ll be keeping an eye out for them now.
